Dusit ZOO in Bangkok Thailand

The Zoo is known by the name of 'Khao Din', Dusit Zoo ( สวนสัตว์ดุุสิต )is Thailand's very first zoo. They say there are more than 1,000 animals there and the Zoo is about 60 years old, that's a lot. Covering a total area of 188,800 square metres, Dusit Zoo is a full-function animal park complete with facilities like an animal hospital, zoo museum and educational center, sightseeing train, activity ground and cafeteria as well as a few restaurants and fast food.

Entrance fee was 50 BHT if I'm not wrong which is a bit less than 2$ US, quite cheap for such a facility and it has car parking available as well.

Certainly you can use the ZOO for your own picnic needs or socializing and you can bring the little ones for a swim as well.

Dusit ZOO - a place not only for animals :)

The park is huge so if you have limited time, it's advisable to strategise. The best way to do it is to take a look at the map, determine what you and your kids want to see, and go according to that plan.

For a quick observation you have the alternative of a tram ride - a mini-train that takes you around the park in about 20 minutes or so.
